Missouri Spirit Online

"Spirit Online" is a program that is designed to bring together women from the rural areas of Missouri.  St. Louis, Jefferson City/Columbia and Kansas City have active National Women's Political Caucus groups with easy access for those who reside there. NWPC Spirit Online seeks to reach out to women in rural areas where caucuses are not viable and to provide many of the resources that "in person" caucuses have.

Our goals are:

  • CONNECTING. Make connections with women who wish to belong to a grassroots organization as a way to reach out to individuals who are interested in politics in their areas, support reproductive healthcare, and may have a desire to run for future office.

  • NETWORKING. We have a short-term goal of building a network of women who will reach out to those they know who may be interested in "Spirit" and a long-term goal is to build groups throughout the state that reflect the needs and resources of their own communities.

  • ACCESS. We understand that in many of our rural areas, there is no access to the internet and phone service can be difficult to find.  Members are challenged by the cost of traveling as well as the time it takes to engage in "in-person" events.  Therefore, one of our goals is to make sure that members have access to Zoom to connect with those in "Spirit" throughout the state. With Zoom, we can introduce speakers on a variety of topics that are relevant to the political arena.

If you are interested in being a part of this organization, join us now.

A note about our name and logo: As a base, we have incorporated the National NWPC logo, which includes the symbol for women in purple. As we developed the logo for our group, we wanted it to represent “flying in spirit” to connect women in rural areas by Zoom/ the Internet when gathering in person may be difficult due to distance. Spirit Online brings us together to understand our common interests and engage us in our communities.
